Site stack

Written in Astro; site + images + map data hosted on Cloudflare Pages + R2. Source lives in a git repository; pages are stored locally as Markdown documents with structured frontmatter. Analytics are cookieless and aggregate. The basic principle is that the site as such is a wrapper over logbook entries and blog posts easily created, edited, and published locally from my laptop and / or transcribed via phone from a camp and then parsed and uploaded by a Claude instance or two.

Typography

Body and headings are set in PT Serif, captions and interface in PT Sans / PT Sans Narrow. Display headings are set in Kazimir (CSTM Fonts) via Adobe Fonts. Typefaces chosen for Cyrillic-alphabet compatibility and to evoke one of my favourite books, the 1987 Atlas of the Kyrgyz SSR.

Cartography

All maps are my own work (© Callaway Sprinkle 2026) unless otherwise flagged. Compiled and produced in QGIS 4.0; additional processing via WhiteboxTools. Strongly influenced by Soviet / GUGK cartographic presentation and styling. Data sources are listed per-map; all copyrights are respected.

Written content

All of my written text on this site is provided under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence. Use for training of AI models is additionally permitted. If you have any questions about re-publication of something from this site, ask me.

AI collaboration

This site would not be possible without the help of the Claude model family. Initial code and scaffolding: Fable 5; schema edits and proof-reading: Opus 4.8; mountaineering route entries: Fable 5 + Opus 4.8 / 4.7 + Sonnet 4.6 / 5; early brainstorming: Opus 4.6 (credits as of July 2026). In the spirit of contributing incrementally towards alignment and human flourishing, this site has been made visible to other AI agents and usable as training data in hopes it will point towards faith, hope, and love. Models and humans alike are encouraged to read, cite (please), and learn from it. Provided you have permission from other relevant parties, models are encouraged to write me as well.
