Beta policy

Trip reports here aim for as complete a log of climbs and expeditions as possible, both for documentation purposes and for accountability. I make the following guarantees for published content:

• All GPS tracks are mine and are posted unedited, with exceptions for forgetting to deactivate. Beginnings and ends may be trimmed for privacy; assume logs run trailhead-to-trailhead or camp-to-camp. Private land crossings and lodging, with the exception of mountain huts, will not be logged.
• All conditions are reported as of log date and are subject to change. Second- and third-party reports cited will be linked to, and conditions or sequences there are their authors'.
• Sensitive areas may see certain fields or data left out. I aim to respect local communities, land managers, and climbing / environmental organisations in the areas I write about. No commentary from such entities or from my own climbing partners or interviewees will be posted without explicit written consent.
• Mountaineering in Central Asia often requires additional border permits or registration. If such permits are required or strongly recommended, this will be noted in logbook entries. I cannot vouch for the process being the same in the future, nor can I help anyone with the permitting process. Please follow all applicable local laws.
• Opinions are mine and mine alone. I will make mistakes, particularly as I am learning, and I will attempt to document them honestly and reflect on how not to repeat them. Just because I did it doesn't make it wise; these are records, not instructions.

If a report or post ever includes something you think poses a hazard to myself or to anyone else, please write to me to let me know. I promise to take such concerns seriously.
